I took 1500 photos and whittled it down to ~860. Here’s the best out of that . Hence why RRVI was weeks ago now and I’m only now done editing...
Let’s see if kinja survives this...
It was a truly epic time. I also got a bunch of signatures on some things from these guys
: Jacky Ickx, Mark Webber, Jeff Zwart, David Donahue, Chad McQueen, Norbert Singer, Hurley Haywood, Hans Mezger, George Follmer, Derek Bell, Jackie Oliver, Brian Redman, David Piper, Willi
Kauhsen, Gijs Van Lennep, Vic Elford, Richard Atwood, Gerard Larrousse, David Hobbs, and
Rudi Lins.
If you haven’t gone and want to, you have to go to Rennsport Reunion. It’s truly amazing. I went for all 4 days and never had a slow moment in order to take it all in. There’s so much to see it’s insane. And yes the drivers do push the cars. Saw multiple 917 can-am cars spin out... and they were only doing exhibition laps.
You’ll never see all of these cars in any other place.
Also for those wondering about that gulf 917 on the tow-truck. Yes that is THE 1970 24-hours of Daytona winner that is owned b y Bruce Canepa. He was pushing hard and blew an oil line during qualifying. Luckily his team fixed it and it ran the race the next day. I think it got 2nd. A ridiculous 908/2 won their class by a huge margin.
Cheers!

If I was going to buy any sports car, I’d probably end up buying a Porsche. They’ve always been the poster cars I’ve had throughout my childhood, minus that stint with the Viper.

I always loved the 959s as a kid. It was crazy to see a dozen of them parked together here...
I’m not sure I’d own one, the Vipers were the ones that always got me excited.
Now Porsche racing history... nothing compares.

That was rod emo ry’s new project. Put a 356 with a custom body on a 964 chassis. Upgraded suspension and he twin turbocharged a 356 flat four. He only got it running like the week before so the body wasn’t finished. He’s calling it the 356 rsr. Sweet project for sure!

Ah, it’s the orange-black GT3RS-Cayenne hauler combo I saw on the 57S while headed to Bottle Logic and The Bruery.
Also I think my friend showed me a photo of the same or similar
Martini 918 on the same day
. Because that’s what his boss drove to work that day.

Nice! And there was a rothmans lifted cayenne that road and track recently did an article on.
Your friends boss mist be doing quite well haha.
The bright blue 918 in the pictures had Colorado dealer tags, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the same exact one where I live near Boulder.

Speaking of tags, I now see the Martini 918 has CA plates. This world is small.
